Team India skipper Virat Kohli took to his Instagram handle on Sunday to pen down a heartwarming note on Father’s Day. The 31-year old cricketer urged his fans and followers to be grateful for the love of their fathers while asking them to choose their own path in life to move forward.
Virat Kohli took shared an old photograph with his father and captioned it, “This father’s day, I urge you all to be grateful for the love of your father but always look for your own path to move forward in life. You’ll never have to look behind because they’re always watching over you whether they’re physically there or not. Happy father’s day.”
Soon after the Indian skipper posted the photo on Instagram, fans flooded Virat Kohli’s comment section with touching remarks.
A fan said, “Happy father’s day champion, your father must be really proud of you.” And many such comments followed.
Virat’s wife Anushka Sharma and his brother Vikas Kohli also reacted to the picture by commenting heart emojis.
For the unversed, Virat Kohli lost his father when he was just 18-years old. Last year during an interaction, the team India captain hailed his father’s decision for making his career path simple and called him a “superhero”.
Kohli said, “My father till the time he was in this world he has been always been my superhero.” He further added, “Due to his personality and decisions, my career path became simple that I had to move ahead only by working hard.”
On the professional front, Virat Kohli is currently standing at the No. 1 position in the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen and he holds No. 2 position in Test rankings.
