Sneh Binny: There Should Be More Docudrama On Sports Personalities!

Recently filmmakers  Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwini Iyer Tiwari have come on board to direct a sports docudrama. Revolving around the on-court glory and off-court lives of the living legends, the show is Titled Break Point’. The show is based on the lives of ace tennis players Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi. Sneh Binny who is the owner of Delhi Binny’s Brigade in the Tennis Premier League feels there should be more docudramas to create awareness. He says,” When you talk about tennis, Leander and Mahesh Bhupathi are the two names that will definitely strike your mind. It is because they are legends of tennis in India. They have played a very important role in shaping the future of tennis in India. They made India super proud by being the first Indian pair to win at Wimbledon & French Open in 1999. The current generation is actively involved in sports and tennis lovers admire Leander & Mahesh. We all look up to them. I sincerely feel there should be more docudramas on sports personalities to increase awareness of sports in India. It helps a lot. We have seen that sports films and shows make a great impact on viewers and especially the youth, they get inspired to take up sports as their passion and profession, which helps make India proud.”

Sneh also feels directors like Nitesh and Ashwini are two of the most creative makers of the industry. As he adds,” Filmmakers Ashwini Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari, with their experience of sports movies such as Dangal & Panga, I am really excited to see what they have to present to the audience. Being a tennis team owner, seeing the lack of awareness of sports other than cricket, especially tennis I was wanting to see a docudrama/ biopic on tennis legends, and with this news, Ashwini and Nitesh are in a way fulfilling my dreams too.” Like Binny even we are all eagerly waiting for this.
