Former Pakistan cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq expressed his opinions on how the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treated the former India skipper MS Dhoni. The former Pakistan spinner took to his YouTube channel to say that the BCCI didn’t treat MS Dhoni ‘the right way’ as the legendary player retired without having played a farewell game.

Clarifying his statement, Saqlain said that every cricketer dreams of bidding goodbye to his career on a high note. He further added that fans of Dhoni would have wanted to see the World Cup-winning captain don No. 7 blue jersey for one last time.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni took to his Instagram handle to announce his retirement from international cricket. Dhoni shared the news of his retirement on August 15, 2020. He played his last game against New Zealand in the semi-finals of the ICC 50-over World Cup 2019.

Saqlain Mushtaq shared a YouTube video saying, “I think everyone who loves MS Dhoni will have one complaint. If he wore India’s kit, with gloves on and holding the bat, and taken the gloves off, and his cap off with respect one last time, then it would have been great.”

He further added that he never speaks negatively about anything on YouTube channel but this time his heart is asking him to say it. He said, “It is BCCI’s loss that they did not treat such a big player the right way.”

Mushtaq also mentioned that he feels sorry for saying all this to BCCI but he is really hurt. He meant that Dhoni being such a great player deserved good send-off rather than the way he chose to say goodbye.
