Indian cricket team’s fiery opening-batsman Rohit Sharma celebrates his 33rd birthday on Wednesday (April 30) and birthday wishes have been pouring in for the hitman from across the globe. For the unversed, Rohit Sharma is the only batsman in the world to have been scored three 200 plus scores in One Day International (ODI) cricket format.

On the occasion of this special day, Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) reminisced the batsman’s one of the best knocks. The BCCI took to Twitter to share a video tribute, remembering Rohit Sharma’s debut knock in Test cricket. BCCI captioned the video by writing, “Happy Birthday, Hitman On @ImRo45’s special day, here is a recap of The Hitman show in whites. This one was in one of his favourite hunting grounds – Kolkata #HappyBirthdayRohit.”

Team India’s reliable batsman Suresh Raina was amongst the first Indian cricketers to wish Rohit Sharma. Raina tweeted, “Happy birthday, Rohit! Wishing you and the family health and happiness in these dire times. Stay home, stay safe, bake a cake. @ImRo45 #HappyBirthdayRohit.”

India bowler Khaleel Ahmed also wished Rohit on his birthday. “You are one of the nicest and most genuine people I know. Wish you a very happy birthday bro @ImRo45 #HappyBirthdayRohit #HappyBirthdayHitman,” Ahmed tweeted.

Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri also sent birthday wishes to Rohit Sharma via Twitter. Ravi tweeted, “Happy Birthday, Sharmaaaa! Have a great year ahead. Here’s wishing you and your family health and happiness Hugging face- God Bless @ImRo45 #HappyBirthdayRohit #HitmanDay #HappyBirthdayHitman.”

Talking about Rohit Sharma, he holds the record for the highest individual score in ODIs. He achieved this milestone in 2014 against Sri Lanka in Kolkata. He smashed 264 runs in that game.

For the unversed, Sharma is also one of the three Indian batsmen who have scored a hundred in the three formats of the game- Test, ODI, and T20.

Speaking of Rohit Sharma’s IPL career, the mighty opener has lifted 4 trophies as a captain for Mumbai Indians in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. He was also part of the Deccan Chargers franchise when they lifted the IPL trophy in 2009.

Rohit Sharma has played 224 ODIs so far. He has 29 centuries and 43 half-centuries in his kitty.

Rohit has also been part of 108 Twenty20 Internationals. In the shortest format, the right-handed batsman has 2773 runs with the help of four hundreds.

In Test cricket, Rohit averages above 46 and has scored 2141 runs in 32 games.
