It has been an incredible journey for the Mumbai-based franchise in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After almost 3 months, the glorious cricket league came to an end on November 10. The Mumbai team emerged as the ultimate winners of the IPL 2020. Looking back at the journey, skipper Rohit Sharma penned down an emotional note on Mumbai’s special IPL 2020 season.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Rohit Sharma explained how the bubble life was due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic. He also explains how the bubble life affected the whole team. Sharma also further adds that how it was all worth it.

In his emotional note, Rohit Sharma wrote about the special IPL 2020 season for Mumbai. The right-hand batsman writes, “BubbleLife was trending when we landed in UAE. 3 months later I can say this season was a special one. After days in quarantine, followed by training, it was time for #Dream11IPL 2020. Protocols became habits. Team room became our living room. Our hotel became kids play ground and post dinner meet-ups became competitive gaming sessions. Winning and defending our title was special and our #OneFamily found a home away from home inside “our bubble.”

As everyone knows the IPL 2020 trophy is Mumbai’s fifth title win. They have also won the IPL trophy in the year 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. For all the other four times also, Rohit Sharma was the captain of the team.

Mumbai locked horns with Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi in the finals of the IPL 2020. The Delhi team put up a target of 157 runs for Mumbai to chase. In return, Mumbai easily chased down the target while also keeping their 5 wickets safe.

The BCCI had to stage the 13th season of IPL in the UAE due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in India. The decision led to all eight teams to follow the 14 days quarantine rule and regular COVID-19 checks for safety.

Rohit Sharma will be joining the rest of the team India in Australia for the Test match series. The series will start from December 17. The 33-year old batsman won’t be playing the T20 International or ODIs against Australia due to some reported injury.
