Rohit Sharma has opened up about Trent Boult’s return to the Mumbai squad for the finals after he suffered an injury. Read below to know more.

On Thursday, Mumbai thrashed Delhi in the quarter-finals of the on-going Indian Premier League (IPL) and reached the finals. Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma was indeed delighted by the efforts of the team. However, the fans remained concerned about star bowler Trent Boult who walked back to the dressing room after suffering a groin strain. Later on, in the post-match interview, Rohit spoke about Trent Boult’s return to the team for the finals.

In yesterday’s outing against Delhi, Trent Boult bowled only 2 overs before returning to the dressing room due to an injury. However, in the first over itself, he scraped two important wickets of Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane.

Speaking of Trent Boult’s return to Mumbai team for the finals, Rohit Sharma expressed optimism. He said, “I’ve not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don’t think it’s a big problem. Three-day rest and he should be back on the park.”

Mumbai skipper then went on to praise the two key bowlers of Mumbai’s bowling unit- Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Hailing them Sharma said, Bumrah and Boult have been in solid form. They play for different teams so they have different plans. We as a team have different plans and it”s great to see them execute those.”

Jasprit Bumrah took 4 wickets and helped Mumbai reach the finals by defeating Delhi by 57 runs. While Mumbai has reached the finals, Delhi will either lock horn with Hyderabad or Bangalore in the eliminator clash.

After winning the toss, Delhi put Mumbai to bat first. With some brilliant knocks by Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan, Mumbai put up a massive target of 200 runs for Delhi to chase.

After suffering early loss of wickets, Delhi somehow managed to score 143 runs falling 57 runs short of the target.
