LeBron James broke down when he heard the news of the passing of close friend Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash and has found a special way to always have his “big brother” with him by getting a tattoo.
James had revealed on social media that he’s getting a tattoo on his left thigh, but nobody could guess that it was a tribute tattoo. His tattoo made a debut during a team workout at Lakers at their El Segundo, CA training facility on Thursday (Jan.30). It appeared to be a Black mamba, the fast-moving snake Kobe is fondly nicknamed after. Under the snake, there is a text that reads, “Kobe 4 Life.” The tattoo is so fresh it is still bandaged in clear tape.
It is speculated that Anthony Davis has also gotten a similar tattoo in honour of Kobe, but it is yet to be confirmed. The last tweet ever by Kobe was addressed to LeBron.
LeBron even paid a heartfelt tribute to Bryant and his daughter Gigi on social media that read, “I’m Not Ready but here I go. Man I sitting here trying to write something for this post but every time I try I begin crying again just thinking about you, niece Gigi and the friendship/bond/brotherhood we had!”
King James continued, “I literally just heard your voice Sunday morning before I left Philly to head back to LA. Didn’t think for one bit in a million years that would be the last conversation we’d have. WTF!! I’m heartbroken and devastated my brother!! . Man I love you big bro. My heart goes to Vanessa and the kids. I promise you I’ll continue your legacy man! You mean so much to us all here especially #LakerNation and it’s my responsibility to put this sh*t on my back and keep it going!! Please give me the strength from the heavens above and watch over me! I got US here! There’s so much more I want to say but just can’t right now because I can’t get through it! Until we meet again my brother!! #Mamba4Life❤️ #Gigi4Life❤️ .”
