IPL 2020: KL Rahul Praises Mohammed Shami After Their Historic Win Against Mumbai

In a spectacular game of cricket on Sunday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Punjab registered a historic win against Mumbai. After the nail-biting Super Over, Punjab skipper KL Rahul praises bowler Mohammed Shami for his amazing spell. The historic match has 2 Super Overs.

In the Super Over, Mohammed Shami brilliantly handled the responsibility of defending six runs put by Punjab. He bowled brilliant deliveries to Mumbai’s star batsmen- skipper Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock.

It is because of Shami’s spell Mumbai fell one run short of the target. This resulted in a historic win second Super Over Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.

After the game, KL Rahul was all praises for Mohammed Shami for his brilliant effort. In the first super-over Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul helped Punjab put up a target for 6 runs for Mumbai to chase. However, Shami’s spell resulted in a second draw in the game.

After the first super-over, Punjab’s in-form batsmen Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal helped their team put up a target of 12 runs for the Mumbai-based franchise to chase.

Later, Chris Jordan with his bowling stopped Mumbai’s fiery batsmen Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya at 11-runs. Thus, Punjab registered a victory against Mumbai in the second Super Over.

The win has helped Punjab climb up at the number six spot in the IPL Points Table. This position seemed difficult for the team to reach at one point in the tournament.

In the post-match presentation, KL Rahul said, “Shami was certain he wanted to go for six yorkers and he has been phenomenal for us. It is important senior guys put their hands up for us.”

The skipper refused to pay not much attention to victory instead he wants the team to stay focused and calm for the upcoming matches.

Mumbai is in the number two position in the IPL Points Table because of losing Sunday’s game. Meanwhile, Punjab has added 2 more points to their tally.
