The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was indefinitely called-off due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic. The BCCI then decided to stage the IPL 2020 in the UAE pertaining to the rise in COVID-19 cases in India. Now the IPL 2020 detailed schedule is out and fans are going gaga.

The much-awaited cricket tournament will kick-start in Abu Dhabi on September 19, 2020. The tournament opener will witness the defending champions, Mumbai Indians lock horns with MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings.

Dubai will host its first game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on September 20. The finale of the tournament will be take place on November 10.

All the eight IPL franchises have already reached UAE and have even started their pre-season practise sessions. The players and other support staff will have to adhere to the SOPs issued by the BCCI.

The players and the supporting staff have a strict warning to stay in the bio-secure bubble. The extreme measures are due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic. The tournament will be a TV only affair and the matches will take place behind the closed doors.

Everyone’s testing for COVID-19 was fdone before departing to the UAE from India.

Post reaching there, the players and staff members again underwent another test for COVID-19. Following the test, two of CSK bowlers and ten staff members had COVID-19 diagnosis.

The latest update suggests that Delhi Capital’s physiotherapist has been tested positive for COVID19.

The other people associated with DC are currently isolating themselves on an immediate basis.
