Team India is currently down under gearing up to take on the Australian team in their first overseas outing amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Men in Blue will lock horns with the Kangaroos on November 27 for the first of three ODIs. Later on, they will play three T20Is and then conclude with the four-match Test series. Now, the ECB has announced that team India will tour England for five Test matches in the summer of 2021.
The English team will host India for five Test matches which will commence at the Trent Bridge. The other venues are the Lord’s, the Oval, Headingly, and the Old Trafford. The first Test match will be played on August 4, 2021. The Test series will go on till September 14, 2021.
An official ECB statement read, “The Test series against India is due to conclude the Men’s international summer, with Tests at Trent Bridge, Lord’s, Emerald Headingley, the Kia Oval, and Emirates Old Trafford.”
The cricket body in England is also planning to host international series across men’s and women’s, and disability cricket in 2021.
England is also gearing up to lock horns with the Aussies for the prestigious Ashes urn. The fixtures and dates for next summer’s Ashes series are yet to be announced.
The England team recently locked horns with West Indies and emerged as the winners. The bowling unit of the England team- Stuart Broad, Jimmy Anderson, and Ben Stokes are in tremendous form. In the batting unit- skipper Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Jos Buttler can be a nightmare to the opposition.
As of now, the Indian bowlers are practising in the nets to take on the Australian batsmen. In the absence of skipper Virat Kohli, it will be interesting to see how the men in blue will take on the Aussies.
