The much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set t kick-start in the UAE. The BCCI is hosting the 13th season the IPL outside India pertaining to the rise in COVID-19 cases in the country. All of the franchise has reached the UAE and are practise hard in the nets ahead of the tournament. Meanwhile, England and Australia players arrive in the UAE to participate in the world-renowned T-20 league.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took to their respective social media handles to share the arrival of their star players in the UAE. They shared the pictures of England and Australia players arriving in the UAE. These players can be seen wearing the PPE kit to keep themselves safe amid the on-going coronavirus pandemic.
On Friday morning, KKR tweeted the arrival of their star players- Eoin Morgan, Tom Banton, and Pat Cummins. While Morgan and Banton are England players, Cummins plays for down under.
SunRisers Hyderabad also welcomed Australia’s celebrated players- David Warner and Mitchell Marsh along with English wicket-keeping batsman Jonny Bairstow in the UAE.
The England and the Australia players arrive late in the UAE owing to the three-match ODI series between them. The series ended on Wednesday night with Australia thrashing England for 2-1 in a nail-biting series finale.
These players will now have to quarantine themselves ahead of the tournament. They will hit the net sessions as soon as their quarantine gets over. The quarantine period for them hasn’t been decided yet.
In the opening game of the tournament starting on September 19, the defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
