Dhoni’s Calmness Is The Reason Behind His Success As A Captain: Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma praises MS Dhoni’s captaincy and called him the perfect mentor for young players.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma was all praise for India’s former captain MS Dhoni, he called him the best captain India has ever had. He also lauded Dhoni for his calm and composed behavior. Rohit believes that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) incredible consistency and success in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all because of MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Rohit further added, “Whole India knows MS Dhoni is the one who has been like that. It has helped him to make such good decisions on the field and now you see he is the most successful Indian captain, having all three ICC Trophies with him and many IPL titles as well. He is the best captain India has seen and there is a reason behind it and that reason is him being calm and composed under pressure situation.”

Hitman also said that Dhoni’s calmness has helped him lead India to three ICC Trophies and his franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to three IPL Trophies.

Sharma confessed, “I have seen him handle a lot of younger bowlers when they get under pressure, he goes around and puts his arm around their neck and talks to them about what he needs to do and what not. You know when a younger player is being treated like that by the senior member of a team, you obviously feel confident and want to deliver for the team.”

Talking about MS Dhoni, he is the only captain to have won all three ICC Trophies. He led India to win 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, 2011 ICC ODI World Cup, and 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. He retired from Test cricket in 2014 paving way for Virat Kohli to take over the team.

With rumors of Dhoni’s retirement making rounds in the cricket world such praiseworthy statements standout as a proof of the legacy the iconic cricketer has left behind.
