Pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the final ODI against West Indies after he felt mild pain in his lower back following the second ODI. BCCI medical team examined him and suggested that the fast bowler needs some rest to fully recover.

India pacer Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the 3rd ODI against West Indies due to an injury. Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini has been named as his replacement.

Deepak felt mild pain in his lower back following the second ODI played in Vizag on Wednesday. The BCCI medical team examined him and has suggested that the fast bowler needs some rest in order to fully recover. Chahar was thus been ruled out of the final ODI.

The Indian team is already without the service of senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was ruled out after the T20I series against West Indies. After making a name for himself by bowling a majority of his overs in the powerplay in T20s, Deepak Chahar was part of India’s ODI squad for West Indies. In 3 matches he has played so far for India in the 50-over format, Deepak has managed only 2 wickets and has conceded at a little more than 6 runs per over.

Earlier on Wednesday, India produced an all-round performance in Visakhapatnam with both bat and ball to level the 3-ODI series 1-1 on Wednesday. First, India put up a mammoth 387/5 thanks to hundreds from Rohit Sharma (159) and KL Rahul (102) and then bundled out West Indies for 280 to draw level. With the series locked at 1-1, the 3rd and final match of the rubber will be played in Cuttack on December 22.
