Cristiano Ronaldo has been put under quarantine after Juventus teammate and defender Daniele Rugani was recently tested positive for COVID-19 aka Coronavirus. Reportedly, Ronaldo had a shared a dressing room with Daniele after beating Inter Milan with 2-0 behind closed doors.
Reportedly, even though testing positive for the virus, 25-year-old Italian defender is not showing any signs or symptoms, the footballer has assured everyone that he’s fine, he wrote, “You will have read the news and that’s why I want to reassure all those who are worrying about me, I’m fine. I urge everyone to respect the rules because this virus makes no distinctions! Let’s do it for ourselves, for our loved ones and for those around us.”
After the squad’s training session on Wednesday, Juventus stated that Ronaldo won’t be returning to Turin over the coronavirus outbreak in the city and he’ll remain in his native Madeira.
Not just Ronaldo but also all those who came in contact with Rugani has been kept under isolation. On the other hand, Inter Milan have suspended “all competitive activities” until further notice.
However, all the matches are being played behind closed doors over the spread of the deadly virus. Nottingham Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis confessed that he is diagnosed with the virus, putting Arsenal and Tottenham, at risk.
Italy has more than 12,000 confirmed cases; the Italian government on Wednesday announced nationwide lockdown and ban on public gathering.
