Megan Schutt Hates Playing Against India
Prior to the much awaited final in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup against India on Sunday, Australia's Megan Schutt has a straightforward appealed to the skipper Meg Lanning that she doesn't want to bowl to Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana.
For the very first time during last month's tri-series, Schutt bore the brunt of Verma and Mandhana's attacking cricket, dispatched by the teenager on the very first ball for a four and struck by Mandhana for a six.
There is an overload of anticipation for the clash at MCG, but Schutt admits that she is quaking at the sight of India's top-order big guns, who flared her up for 16 runs in her tournament opener.
Megan Schutt then confessed, “I just hate playing India as they've got the wood on me.”
The Kangaroo spearhead further added, “Smriti and Verma have got me covered. That six in the tri-series was probably the biggest one I've ever been hit for.”
Schutt then concluded by saying, “There are obviously some plans we're going to revisit as bowlers. Clearly, I'm not the best match-up to those two in the powerplay. They find me quite easy to play.”
Speaking on her being the part of the team reaching the finals, Schutt said, “We're in that final we've been talking about for so long and against India, which is super befitting, considering the tri-series we had. It couldn't really be a bigger challenge for us.”
