Tim Southee Defends Virat Kohli
India's skipper Virat Kohli has created a sensation because of his on-field antics after India was handed a 2-0 hammering on Monday in the Test match against New Zealand.
Virat Kohli was seen wildly charged up and was seen giving explosive send-offs to most of the Kiwi batsmen during the 2nd Test match.
During the recently concluded 2nd Test match against New Zealand in Christchurch, Virat was seen interacting with the crowd which constantly kept the India skipper engaged. Virat was also seen coming up with some swear words to celebrate the dismissal of Kane Williamson and Tom Latham.
On Monday, during the post-match conference a New Zealand the journalist questioned Virat Kohli’s on-field behavior, accusing him of swearing at Kane Williamson and a section of the crowd at Hagley Oval.
Listening to the question Virat Kohli lost his cool and asked the journalist to come up with a better question.
"You need to find out exactly what happened and come up with better questions. You can't come here with half questions or half details of what happened. And also, if you want to create controversy, this is not the right place. I had spoken to the match referee. He had no issues with what happened. Thank You," Virat Kohli said.
Reacting to Virat Kohli’s this type of reaction, New Zealand spearhead Tim Southee defended the India skipper by saying that he tried to bring the best of himself by being charged up on the field.
Southee said, “He's a very passionate guy... and very energetic in the field. He tries to bring out the best in himself.”
Meanwhile, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson also defended Virat Kohli, by claiming that he's a committed cricketer and the cricketer community shouldn't look too much into the matter.
Virat Kohli is currently going through a rough patch on the professional front. At first, the Kiwis whitewashed the Indians in the ODI and after that Virat Kohli slipped at No.2 position in the ICC Test rankings.
