In the midst of the coronavirus outbreak, tennis star Roger Federer and his wife Mirka have donated one million Swiss Francs to the "most vulnerable families in Switzerland". In these hard times the couple insisted that "nobody should be left behind."

The 20-time Grand Slam Champion tweeted to share the heart-warming news.  He tweeted, “These are challenging times for everyone and nobody should be left behind. Mirka and I have personally decided to donate one million Swiss Francs for the most vulnerable families in Switzerland. Our contribution is just a start. We hope that others might join in supporting more families in need. Together we can overcome this crisis! Stay healthy.”

The pandemic has led to the postponement or cancelation of worldwide sporting activities and on Tuesday it has forced the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to move to 2021.

Talking about Roger Federer, he is recovering from the knee surgery he underwent in February and was expected to return during the grass-court season.

The French Open's second Grand Slam of the year was postponed from its slot of May 24-June 7 to September 20-October 4.

In addition, the men's ATP and women's WTA Tours were suspended with rankings frozen until 7 June.

The Fed Cup finals scheduled for Budapest from April 14-19, was adjourned indefinitely.
