Former Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath had a rivalry with two of his time's top batsmen- Sachin Tendulkar from India and Brian Lara from West Indies. There have been enough times that the Pigeon has revived its on-field fights with the two legends. Laurels were exchanged and Mcgrath continues to hold high respect for the batting duo. McGrath, who turned 50 this month, recently picked one of those batsmen as the tougher one he faced while bowling.

The legendary bowler with 949 international wickets said both Tendulkar and Lara were "equally good," but admitted that in the final judgment it was the quality of the Caribbean against Australia that held him ahead.

"That was Brian (Lara). He'd never changed his game," McGrath said. "I may have taken his wicket 15 times, but he also scored big hundreds and double hundreds against us when both me and Warnie (Shane Warne) played for Australia together", added Glenn McGrath.

“Lara was slightly harder to bowl than Sachin”, admitted McGrath.

McGrath further added, “When it was his day, he could do absolutely anything. Sachin was equally as good, but there was something about Brian where he could just keep going and he was slightly harder to bowl to than Sachin. He was more fearless.”

In his maiden tour of Australia in 1991-92, Tendulkar played some memorable knocks and ended up having an average of 53-plus along with six hundred and seven fifties in 20 Tests in Australia. His highest score for Australia in 2003-04 was 241 not out in Sydney.

On the other hand, Lara made nine hundreds and 11 fifties in 31 Tests to score 2,856 runs.
