MS Dhoni has stayed away from cricket since the 2019 ICC 50-over World Cup semi-finals against New Zealand. Since then there have been speculations about the former India skipper taking retirement from international cricket but Dhoni has stayed mum about the same.

In this year’s IPL, MS Dhoni will lead Chennai Super Kings. The Chennai skipper already has three IPL trophies to his name. Talking about being a part of the successful CSK franchise, Dhoni credited the franchise for making him understand how to stay humble and helping him improve as a cricketer as well as a human being.

Dhoni said, “This journey started in 2008, CSK has helped me improve in everything whether it was being a human being or being a cricketer, handling situations that are tough both in and out of the field and how to be humble once you are doing well.”

Dhoni also went on to reveal that whenever he visits Chennai, people don’t address him as MS Dhoni but call him “Thala” which means brother.

Dhoni has played 190 IPL matches so far (including two Rising Pune Supergiants editions) and has scored 4,432 runs, including 23 half-centuries.

Talking about the 13th edition of IPL, CSK will face defending champions Mumbai Indians at Wankhede stadium.
