England pacer Jofra Archer was dropped out of the squad for the second Test match against West Indies at the Old Trafford. He was ruled out for violating bio-secure protocols aimed at stopping COVID-19 infections. Archer has been sent into isolation on Thursday pertaining to the breach of rules.

Both the cricket teams have been living in secure bubble sites at the Ageas Bowl, the last venue for the last game. This game marked the return of international cricket post the lockdown due to the on-going coronavirus pandemic.

The English pacer has apologised for putting his teammates into danger, however, the nature of breach hasn’t been disclosed. His removal from the squad was announced 3-hours prior before to the second Test match.

In a statement to ECB, Jofra said, "I am extremely sorry for what I have done. I have put, not only myself, but the whole team and management in danger. I fully accept the consequences of my actions, and I want to sincerely apologise to everyone in the bio-secure bubble."

Archer's breach of the rules is believed to have happened shortly after the conclusion of the first test at Hampshire's Ageas Bowl on Sunday just before the squad entered Old Trafford. An ECB spokesperson could not confirm whether Archer would face further disciplinary action besides missing the second Test.
