Virat Kohli is the face of World cricket. He is possibly the most powerful voice in world cricket. And, he has achieved that with sheer hard work, relentless desire to become the best version of himself, unrelenting passion and of-course a truckload of runs. The Indian captain, who was recently named as the captain of both ICC Test and ODI sides for the third straight year, already has 70 International centuries to his name. That too, at just the age of 31. Kohli, in his 11-year-old Internati0nal career, has seen a plethora of highs both as a batsman and as a member of the Indian side.

Virat Kohli, who shot into the reckoning when he led to the U19 colts to World Cup heists back in 2008, was a crucial part of India’s World Cup and Champions Trophy-winning campaigns in 2011 and 2013. Besides that, he also led India to their maiden Test series win in Australia last season.

Virat Kohli reveals the best moment of his career

But for Virat Kohli, the best moment of his career, a day he’ll never forget, is when he received a maiden call-up to the International side way back in 2008. “…for me, the moment that will always be very dear to me or special is the day that I got selected in the Indian team. I was at home with my mother, watching the news, I was getting no information from anywhere and as my name flashed I had no idea what to do,” Kohli was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

“I went berserk, there was no synchronization. I didn’t know whether to sit, stand, run or jump…I think that is one moment that I would multiply eight times any day and replay it. when you are playing for the national team, tournaments or series become achievements, they become accomplishments. But something that you work hard for as an eight-year-old starting to play cricket to representing your country — that is a feeling you can’t replicate,” he added.

Virat Kohli made his debut for India during the 2008 ODI series against Sri Lanka where he played as an opener. He didn’t have the best of starts to his International career, but little did we knew it was just a calm before the storm- The Kohlistorm.
