Bhuvneshwar Kumar Injury Update
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is in no rush to join the team for the T20 World Cup as he wants to be injury-free at first.
Bhuvnesh Kumar on his comeback in the Indian Cricket Team
Injuries are obviously a speed breaker in the life of any sportsperson, especially when they are in form. The same has happened with the right-arm Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the cricketer has been out of the squad due to his sports hernia.
The spearhead also missed the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh because of the hamstring strain he suffered during the ODI World Cup in England earlier this year. Kumar will soon consult a doctor abroad before deciding whether to undergo surgery.
When asked about his comeback on the Indian side he said, “Right now, I don’t know when I will be able to make a comeback. It could be one day, one week, or even one month. It all depends on the diagnosis and treatment plan.”
He further added, “I want to play cricket. Right now I am completely off it. I am just waiting to get back to the game. It could be frustrating at times.”
Answering the questions regarding the selection in the Indian Cricket Team for the upcoming T20 World Cup Kumar replied, “I am not thinking of the World Cup yet. I just wish I would be injury-free for the World Cup.” Although it isn’t easy to replace such an amazing talent, it will be surely interesting to see who will take Kumar’s place in the T20 World Cup squad if the bowler fails to recover. Deepak Chahar currently ranks as the first choice to replace the injured pacer, as Chahar has already proven his potential in the recent home series against Bangladesh by taking a hat-trick.
Before embarking for New Zealand next month, the Indian Cricket Team will face Sri Lanka followed by three ODIs against Australia; both the series will be played in the Indian front yard.
