The star player of South Africa, AB De Villiers has always stunned everyone with his amazing batting skills. For his ability to hit the balls in any direction in the stadium, AB is also fondly known as Mr. 360.

AB De Villiers announced his retirement from international cricket in May 2018 and set a wave of disappointment amongst his fans that were eager to see AB play the 2019 ICC ODI World Cup. Although later the Proteas cricket expressed his desire to come out of retirement and represent the national team in the T20 World Cup happening in Australia later this year.  AB had attempted to play the ODI World Cup but his comeback was blocked by the national selectors.

Recently South Africa’s coach Mark Boucher said that if the former Proteas skipper would make himself available for the T20 World Cup and would be in the best shape then would be at the tournament later this year.

Boucher further added, He's a discussion in the media and in the public but he is no discussion for me. I have had chats with him and we will probably know pretty soon what's going to happen with him.”

Boucher also said that if they are going for the World Cup they would like to have their best players to be part of the squad.

"If AB is in good form and he is raring to go and he makes himself available for the time we have asked him to be available; if he is the best man for the job, then he must go. It's not about egos or anything like that, it's about sending your best team to the World Cup to try and win that competition”, quoted Mark Boucher.

Talking about the recent matches played by South Africa, they lost the T20I series against England by 1-2. The Proteas will now head to Australia to play 3-matches in ODI and T20 respectively.

South Africa’s squad for the tour down under will be announced on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see if AB De Villiers gets to be a part of it.
