Mumbai: IMD issues red alert in Mumbai as heavy rainfall continues

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Mumbai and nearby districts following heavy rains. The IMD has predicted that the city will continue to receive heavy downpour for the next 48 hours.

Heavy Rains continue to lash Mumbai for the third consecutive day and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given a red alarm for the following two days for Mumbai and its connecting regions.

The Weather agency has said that the island city will keep on accepting substantial deluge for about six additional hours.

“As found in Radar, R/F is happening over Mumbai and prone to cont over it next 6 hours. Substantial precipitation at iso places is probably going to be acknowledged over Mumbai during the following 06 hours. It is particularly in simultaneousness with our figure of SCT Heavy to very H r/f with iso Extremely overwhelming falls.,” IMD said in a tweet.

A few regions, including Bandra, Bandra Kurla Complex (East), Santacruz, Colaba, Mahalaxmi, Ram Mandir, and NSC (Worli) stations of Mumbai have announced more than 10 cm of precipitation, IMD said.

The local Met Center in Mumbai has anticipated a by and large shady sky with moderate downpours in the city and rural areas alongside exceptionally overwhelming downpours at some secluded spots.

Because of downpours, a few territories have been waterlogged.
