Terror camps spotted where Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara is situated

India and Pakistan signed the agreement of connecting Punjab Gurdaspur's Dera Baba Nanak shrine with Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan on October 24. But is now reported that Intelligence agencies have spotted terrorist training activities there.

Intelligence agencies have reported terrorist training activities around the border district of Narowal in Pakistan’s Punjab province, the same place as Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara. Dera Baba Nanak Sahib’s corridors in Gurdaspur Punjab connect with Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara located in Pakistan. It is reported by sources in the intelligence agencies that terrorist training camps are seen in Muridke, Shakargarh, and Narowal in Pakistan’s Punjab province, and a number of men and women are reportedly camping and undergoing training.

The inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor is scheduled on November 9 and it is reported that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be seen inaugurating the corridor in India, while even Pakistan will open the corridor on the same day. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan shared various pictures of the completed project and wrote, “Kartarpur is ready to welcome Sikh pilgrims.” He was also seen congratulating his government as they completed the work in record time for Guru Nanak Ji’s 550th birthday celebrations.

The very first list of pilgrims from India has been shared and it includes several prominent leaders including former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Ministers Hardeep Puri, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and other MPs and MLAs of Punjab. The agreement signed by the ministry of home affairs, Indian claims that people of all faith can visit the place while travelling visa-free. But this agreement is in place for 5 years and may later be extended by mutual consent. The agreement of the operation of the corridor can also be cancelled if a persistent violation of the agreement takes place.
