The entire world has been paralyzed due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The situation has become so severe that the World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic last week.
With over 140 cases in India being tested positive for the COVID-19 and with 3 deaths because of the deadly virus, the Government has suspended all activities where there would be a gathering of more than 10 people.
Meanwhile, with immediate action, many schools and colleges have been shut down until further notice. This has forced the school and college authorities to either postpone or cancel the examination scheduled for different classes.
In context to the shutdown of schools and colleges, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to promote the students of classes 1-8 without any exams being conducted.
The exams of the primary sections in Uttar Pradesh were scheduled between 23rd March to 28th March but due to the shutdown the schools are closed till 2nd April.
Competitive and other examinations too have been postponed till 2nd April.
According to the latest data from WHO, over 11,500 people were tested positive with novel coronavirus globally on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases above 179,000.
The government in India is strict measures to curb the spread of novel coronavirus in the country and has advised people to stay indoors and wash their hands on a regular basis.
