Coronavirus Outbreak: Man Under Observation For The Disease Goes Missing

A man from Karnataka who was suspected to be infected by Novel Coronavirus argued with the staff late at night and went missing after that. Read below.

A person who arrived at Mangaluru airport from Dubai and was admitted to a hospital’s isolation ward with coronavirus symptoms has gone missing, sources said.

The patient, who arrived on Sunday, was transferred to Wenlock District Hospital with a high fever and a few coronavirus symptoms.

He reportedly argued late in the night with the hospital staff that he hadn’t contracted the virus and left the hospital saying that he’ll be seeking care in a private hospital.

The health officer at the hospital called the police, and a high warning was sounded in the coastal districts to find the person who had escaped from the hospital.

Dakshina Kannada District Health Officer Sikandar Pasha had previously said that the patient will be kept under observation for 24 hours and discharged following routine testing.

On Monday the District Health Department filed a complaint with the Mangaluru Police Station and investigation is on.

As of now, 23 Indians have been infected with the deadly coronavirus infection, while 16 foreign nationals have been infected with the disease in India.

The recent case is of a 3-year old from Kerala who has been infected with the coronavirus infection. 

The Government is taking all necessary measures to combat the spread of the infection and has warned the people to avoid huge gatherings for no reason. Precautions and safety measures have been issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) on a global scale.

Meanwhile, certain northern regions of Italy have been quarantined as the cases of patients infected by coronavirus have shown drastic rise and Italy has become the first foreign place to have marked over 133 death cases due to Coronavirus outside China.
