Arvind Kejriwal's daughter: Dad used to make us read Bhagwad Gita, is this terrorism
Speaking about BJP leaders calling Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal a terrorist, Kejriwal's daughter Harshita Kejriwal said, "I still remember he used to wake...my brother, mother, grandparents and I, up at 6 AM, make us read Bhagwad Gita...Is this terrorism?"
Father Used to Make us Read Bhagwad Gita, Says Kejriwal's Daughter
Arvind Kejriwal's daughter thinks the BJP's description of the Delhi chief minister as a "terrorist" is a new low.
In an interview with ANI, Harshita Kejriwal pointed to what she said was progress made on civic and social issues such as education, electricity and water to defend her father, echoing comments he himself has made.
She said Arvind Kejriwal used to make the family read the Gita and sing Insaan Se Insaan Ka Ho Bhaichara early in the morning, and teach them about it.
"Is this terrorism?" she asked.
Both BJP MP Parvesh Verma and Union Minister Prakash Javadekar have called Arvind Kejriwal a terrorist, but Manoj Tiwari, the Delhi BJP chief, claimed in recent interview with India Today TV the chief minister was making the charge up.
And does he, Tiwari, consider Kejriwal a terrorist? His response was to describe the question as "debatable" and accuse his election rival of protecting people who raised "seditious slogans" from the law.
Arvind Kejriwal, who is seeking a third term as CM, has personally defended himself from the "terrorist" charge, telling the audience at a recent Aaj Tak event: "If you feel I'm a terrorist, press the lotus button on February 8."
"If you think I've worked for five years, press the broom button."
Delhi voters head to the polls on Saturday, February 8. Counting is on Tuesday, February 11.
