Handwara Encounter: Major Anuj Sood’s Father Is Proud Of His Son’s Sacrifice

Father of Late Major Anuj Sood says that he is proud of the supreme sacrifice made by his son. Watch his interview!

Late Major Anuj Sood laid down his life fighting the terrorists last week. His father has expressed his emotions after receiving the heartbreaking news. Major Anuj’s father Chandrakant Sood is a Retired Brigadier. He told a news portal, “He has made a supreme sacrifice for saving lives of others. And that’s what he was trained for. I feel a little sad for his wife as he had to move for operations after just three-four months of his marriage in 2017.”

30-year-old Major Anuj Sood along with four other personnel attained martyrdom on 2 May, 2020 fighting the terrorists in the Handwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. His father lives in a rented apartment in Panchkula while his wife works in a private company in Pune. 

Major Sood was born on December 17, 1989 in Bangalore where his father was posted at that time. After his school education, he was selected for IIT, but he chose to join NDA to fulfill his dream of becoming an Army Officer. 

Major Anuj’s sister Harshita is also serving as a Captain in the army. His elder sister lives in Australia while mother Suman is working as a principal in a government school in Yamunanagar.
