Don’t give money to beggars, they could be COVID-19 spreaders: Chandigarh Administrator’s Adviser

Manoj Parida, the Adviser to the Chandigarh Administrator, on Sunday appealed residents not to give money to beggars, saying they could be "coronavirus spreaders".

The Adviser to the Chandigarh Administrator on Sunday appealed city occupants not to offer cash to homeless people, saying they could be “corona spreaders”. Consultant Manoj Parida said homeless people couldn’t be imprisoned as begging is not a crime.

“Appeal to Chandigarh occupants not to offer cash to homeless people who hurry to you at traffic points. They could be corona spreaders…. We can’t imprison them since beggary isn’t a crime. At the point when placed in cover homes they flee to bring in cash from avenues. So just state NO,” Parida tweeted. The Union Territory of Chandigarh has seen a flood in coronavirus contaminations.
