China works on 6G technology in less than a week after rolling 5G network

China who just launched their 5G data plans last week, has already officially begun developing the next-generation internet connection 6G. Read on.

China recently announced that it have officially begun the research and development of 6G technology. China who not even a week back launched its superfast 5G network now along with a team of experts has begun their work on the next-generation mobile internet connection.

With the help of 37 telecommunication specialists from universities, institutions, and corporations on the panel, they are tasked with issuing the layout of the development of 6G and proving the scientific feasibility of it. China announced the new at the 6G launch ceremony in Beijing which was held on Sunday.

The Deputy Minister of the Technology Bureau in China, Wang Xi at the conference revealed that the bureau is currently working with the experts to design a plan for 6G. China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, China’s three state-owned telecommunication carriers launched their 5G data plans last week.

A ‘5G smart town’ near Shanghai has been built by Chinese engineers, where residents will have access to the 5G network and will be able to download TV series, movies or games at a speed of 1.7GB per second. In the town of Wuzhen 5G signal will be got at every nook and corner as 140 transmitters went into service recently.

The ‘superfast’ 5G network will also be found at the Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station as it is one of the busiest traffic hubs in the world, as it handles 60 million passengers a year.
