Home Remedies For Oily Skin

Oily skin occurs when too much sebum is produced by the sebaceous glands in the skin. The waxy, sticky material sebum protects and hydrates the skin. Sebum is vitally essential for healthy skin. Too much sebum, however, can cause oily skin, clogged pores, and acne. Oily skin management also requires a person making regular skincare a habit.

You might not know that certain kitchen essentials can be used to keep the oil on the skin at bay. The symptoms of oily skin include- a shiny or greasy appearance, pores on the skin, skin can at times look rough or thick, and pimples are a constant and last but not the least clogged pores and blackheads.

Oily skin symptoms and severity differ between people. Genetics may be important in how oily the skin is.

Here are certain Home Remedies you can try to keep your skin oil-free:

Wash Your Face Regularly

Wash skin regularly with gentle soap and warm water. Avoid soaps with fragrances, added moisturizers or harsh chemicals. These things can make the skin dry and rough. Pat dry the face after wash with soft towel or cloth.

Use Medicated Blotting Papers

Regular face wash can’t be possible when traveling or outdoors, so one can use medically prescribed blotting paper to gently wipe the oil on the face. Use non-fragrant blotting paper to avoid skin irritation.

Use Facial Masks

One can use face masks made up of honey to make the skin oil-free. Honey has antibiotics that don’t allow the skin to produce more sebum thus keeping the skin oil-free.

Use Moisturizers

There is a myth that oily skins and moisturizers don’t go along very well but the right type of moisturizer can be beneficial to the skin. Oil-free moisturizers could help the skin be moist and protected. Aloe vera can be perfect. Apply aloe vera gel on face for 30 mins and wash with warm water.

Avoid Touching The Face

Our hands are dirty so avoid touching the face. Touching the face with dirty hands can make the skin produce more oil to help fight the bacteria. Wash the hands properly before touching the face or use a clean cotton cloth to clean the face.

All the above home remedies can help combat the oily skin which in turn can reduce pimples and acne.
