Salman Khan’s return as Chulbul Pandey in a cameo for Ajay Devgn’s film Singham Again recently created a significant buzz among fans. Many were excited to see the beloved cop character make a comeback but as the film premiered during the Diwali festivities, it received mixed reactions. Some Redditors have now raised a question on why Salman Khan ruin his own iconic character. The discussions have sparked curiosity about the impact of this cameo on Chulbul Pandey’s legacy.
Dabangg has been a standout in Bollywood, known for its action sequences, memorable dialogues and the charisma of Salman Khan. However, many fans were disappointed by how he portrayed Chulbul Pandey in Singham Again. A Reddit post raised the question, “Why did Salman ruined his iconic Dabangg character?” and the caption of the post read, “Salman just had to ruin it for us beloved fans by doing this dosti ka commitment. I strongly believe Chulbul was one character that was loved both by his diehard fans and movie lovers equally. Does this mean he won’t make standalone Dabangg movies anymore?”
Despite mixed reviews, it’s important to acknowledge Salman Khan’s dedication to his friends in the industry. Even after the loss of his close friend, politician Baba Siddique, on October 12, Salman ensured he honoured his commitment to shoot his scene for Singham Again. His actions have won him admiration, with one user commenting, “For all his shortcomings, Salman has always been extremely giving when it comes to his friends. He has been very vocal about his affection for Ajay and did this as a favor to him.”

Some Redditors were critical of his appearance, noting inconsistencies with his character. One user humorously remarked, “bhai bhaichare mai aake apni hee lanka lagva lete hai,” while another pointed out that, “It speaks a lot when you can’t even be bothered to shave your beard.”
Fans are also concerned about the future of the Dabangg series. One netizen mentioned that Timangshu Dhulia had worked on a script for Dabangg 4, which Salman rejected, saying, “I am sure it would have been better than Dabangg 2 and 3. I hope he makes it instead of Rohit Shetty.” Another fan noted, “After Dabangg 3 not doing that well at the box office, bringing Rohit Shetty for the upcoming installments is a smart choice. The Dabangg franchise will continue in the future; it’s Chulbul Pandey, they won’t ignore it.”
Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty was released on November 1, 2024 and featuring a star-studded cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, and more.
