Chhaava First Look Poster: Why Akshaye Khanna Remains Underrated in Bollywood?

Akshaye Khanna is often considered underrated despite being a talented and versatile actor in the Indian film industry. There are a few reasons why this perception exists:

Tuesday the makers of Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava dropped first-look posters of Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb on social media.

In the posters, Akshaye’s tousled hair, heavy grey beard and kohl-rimmed eyes make for a fierce and intimidating figure. The actor sports an intricately embroidered ensemble and chunky pearl-studded necklaces in the posters.

“Darr aur dehshat ka naya chehra (The new face of fear and panic) – Presenting #AkshayeKhanna as Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb, the ruthless ruler of the Mughal Empire,” wrote production house Maddock Films alongside a set of character posters.

Akshaye Khanna is often considered underrated despite being a talented and versatile actor in the Indian film industry. There are a few reasons why this perception exists:

Akshaye has always been known for his selective approach to roles. While many actors might sign multiple films to maintain a presence in the industry, Akshaye has been more particular about the roles he chooses, often opting for unconventional or offbeat films. This has sometimes led to him not having as high a visibility as other actors who consistently appear in mainstream commercial cinema.

Unlike some of his contemporaries, Akshaye has often stayed away from the typical “hero” roles. He doesn’t fit the Mold of a typical Bollywood leading man, which is often associated with more glamorous or larger-than-life characters. Instead, he plays complex, nuanced characters, which can sometimes be overlooked by mainstream audiences.

While Akshaye Khanna may not always receive the mainstream fame he deserves, his performances in films like Taal, Dil Chahta Hai, Race, Gandhi, My Father, The Accidental Prime Minister, and others showcase his ability to bring depth to his characters.
