Princess Diana became Lady Diana Spencer after her father inherited the title of Earl Spencer in 1975. Diana, Princess of Wales was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales, who is the eldest child and heir apparent of Queen Elizabeth II.
They had two sons and later divorced in 1996. Diana died in a car crash after trying to escape the paparazzi in Paris on the night of August 30, 1997.
