In a surprising twist of events, actress Kareena Kapoor has marked her lowest earning in 20 years with her newly released film ‘The Buckingham Murders’. The Hansal Mehta directorial released in theatres on Friday, the 12th of September. The film nearly faced no competition and was a lone runner for the public. Even then, the collection turned out to be a poor one.

While Kareena Kapoor, and team behind The Buckingham Murders, ensured of enough promotions prior to its release. Kareena shared a message on social media that this was dream for her where she gets a chance to either act or produce such kind of a story. As she pens, “As an actor, it’s the choices one makes…And I am very proud of this choice. Please watch this story and dive into my world of crime and dramaa dream I have always had to act in or produce one…but here I got the best of both worlds“.

However, the opening day just saw a a few crores which is an unexpected outcome of the makers’ expectations. This has surprisingly marked Kareena Kapoor Khan’s lowest – opening day collection for a movie in her career of 20 years. As it comes out as a big shock to everyone, it was also evident that the actor not only failed to reach better scores in terms of its opening collection, but also recorded her least earned movie so far. Multiple films in the past that featured Kareena have been a flop too, however, each of them atleast managed to open on the screens with good pictures.
The Buckingham Murders has released for the viewers in two different languages, English and Hinglish (Hindi+English). Makers await to see the weekend collection as there may be a rise around Saturdays and Sundays. The re-release of Tumbbad showed better performance than the Hansal Mehta picture in theatres, as noticed by the no. of tickets sold in a very less time
