Marathi veteran actor Jayant Savarkar passed away at the age of 88. He had been undergoing treatment for the last few days, and today, around 11:00, he breathed his last at a hospital in Thane due to age-related issues, his son Kaustubh Savarkar informed.
Kaustubh told PTI that his father was admitted to a hospital due to low blood pressure around 10–15 days ago in Thane. Suddenly, his health deteriorated last night. He was put on a ventilator, and he passed away around 11 a.m. due to age-related issues.
Jaywant Savarkar created the magic of his acting not only in Marathi but also in Hindi cinema for the last six decades. Some of his most memorable performances include “Aai Kuthe Ky Karte, Hari Om Vithala, Gadbad Gondhal, 66 Sadashiv, and Bakaal. In Hindi cinemas such as Yugpurush, Vaastav, and Singham.
Savarkar was well known for his supporting roles, and he has won the hearts of the audience with his soft-cornered acting. The late actor, who started his career in Marathi theatre as a backstage artist, will have his last rites held on Tuesday morning.
