Jay-Z has categorically rejected the allegations, describing them as an “attempt at blackmail.” The lawsuit asserts that Combs and Carter drugged and assaulted the plaintiff during an afterparty following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. The plaintiff claims she was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement and was provided with a beverage that caused her to feel “woozy” and “lightheaded” prior to the alleged assault.

On Sunday, Jay-Z issued a statement rejecting the lawsuit, characterizing it as an effort to extort funds. He referred to Buzbee as a “fraud” and a “deplorable human being” who takes advantage of victims for his own benefit. He committed to not settling the case and pledged to reveal the lawyer’s actions in a “highly public manner.”
