A film that grew out of much hard work and research on the boss lady Kangana Ranaut herself, Emergency did not come out with the appreciations that it expected. The film that notably appeared as one of the much awaited film after it did not pass through the censor board guidelines at once, performed pathetically in the theatres. But did you wonder what could be the reason behind such a knowledgeable biographical drama story not sitting right infront of the audience?

Let’s check out the three probable reasons that could be the reason behind Emergency’s fallout at the big screens.
Sikh Community Against The Storyline Of Emergency
As the movie released in India, everybody was elated to see Kangana come back to the industry after a very long gap. But one particular community that did not want to see her or her film was the sikh community. The Kangana Ranaut directorial not only faced a ban in the Punjab region of the country, but was bashed by almost every Punjabi individual all over the nation.
Recent reports also revealed that this is not only restricted to India. Pro-Khalistani extremists have shown outrage during the screening of the film in London, and disrupted the show in several other locations of UK as well. While speaking on social media, Sikh Press Association claimed that Emergency the movie was seen as ‘anti-sikh’ to which they are completely against of.

This took some percentage of the viewership away from the makers, seeing a gradual drop in its earnings.
Kangana Ranaut ‘s Bond With Bollywood
The actress turned politician has had a longtime feud with the entire movie industry. Despite being a part of the glamor field, Kangana never set back on good terms with any industry actor or actresses, especially after she joined politics.
In many of her interviews, she has talked about the women-centric films she had done in the past and often slammed the existing directors and producers of Bollywood. Probably now, this one time, when her film is released- Bollywood did not seem to be welcoming towards her. The industry actors and filmmakers were hardly seen praising the film for Kangana’s directorial move or her acting excellency. The Queen actress seemed like she was cut off from the industry since long and this bang on the door of the B-town appeared unimportant for all.
Political Career Of Kangana Ranaut
Even though her career roots from being an actor and will always be, but Kangana’s popularity as an actress was seen dropping by ever since she joined BJP and enter politics.

Because the film revolves around the storyline of the opposition party’s most prestigious member – former PM India Smt.Indira Gandhi ji, it could be a political move by Congress leaders to ensure that the screenings do not go full at many regions other than Mumbai.
Lack Of Promotional Campaigns
Even though the film Emergency came out at the big screens with everybody’s efforts, the director-actor Kangana Ranaut was mostly seen alone during the film’s promotion. Though, it was not run out on a broader scale, but even the smallest of the PR and marketing was seen as being handled by Ranaut herself. This could probably be another reason of why Emergency turned weaker at the box office.
Emergency Box Office Collection Day 4
Meanwhile, as the fourth day box office collection for Emergency hits in, it is noticed that the film turned out poor on Monday. A total earning of Rs.1 crore speaks of the pointers mentioned above and could be 60% true. EMERGENCY currently holds the India Net Collection of Rs. 11.35 crores in four days.
