The celebratory occasion of Pushpa 2 : The Rule, turned out to be a massive chaos when the movie premiere night at Hyderabad turned into a disaster. A 35 year old lady died in a stampede rush at the Sandhya Theatre of Hyderabad, while the premiere of Pushpa 2 was on. Reportedly, the lady was one of the individuals of the massive crowd that gathered after Allu Arjun stepped into the theatre for the screening. The lady who first fainted in the rush, was later declared dead while her two kids were headed towards the hospital sustaining injuries.

Just a day prior the release, on December 4th, 2024 – Pushpa 2 saw its premiere in Hyderabad’s Sandhya 70mm Theatre, located on RTC Cross Roads. Fans all over the city came to attend the film’s screening. The evening turned overwhelming after the OG star Allu-Arjun made a surprise appearance at the theatre. Despite heavy security and police protection, the situation was converted into a stampede with fans rushing in the theatre, pushing and thrashing each other. During the same, a 39-year-old woman Revathi, also arrived to take a glimpse of the Pushpa star. But, destiny did not sit right – Revathi was trapped in the chaos along with two of her kids, losing consciousness out of suffocation. Being pushed by the large crowd, the woman felt was uncomfortable and fainted inside the theatre that did not have the capacity to accomodate a large crowd.

The commotion was unfolded around 10.30 pm when a large crowd surged to catch a glimpse of the star. The Hyderabad police officials performed laathicharge, as the situation went ‘out of control’. Later, the mother-son were tried given a CPR, but failed to survive and the woman was declared dead. Her younger son, was seen sustaining severe injuries in his body and thereafter was rushed to the hospital in a critical state.

Hype for the Sukumar directorial Pushpa 2 is really high. The film’s heavy demand has led to hefty prices for tickets in theatres like Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The movie is releases on the big screens on December 5th, 2024.
