Sab TV’s most famous show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is widely popular for holding its audience intact with its authentic humor and entertainment. However, as the roasting culture increases amid the current generation, definition of humor has changed completely. Once a part of TMKOC, actor Shailesh Lodha recently criticized the developing culture of abusive comedy and indirectly bashed comedians like Samay Raina, Ashish Solanki, Maheep Singh for promoting the same. Shailesh explains how mocking someone to make another person laugh is easy, while performing actual humor to entertain others is difficult.

Shailesh Lodha On Abusive Comedy Culture
Popularly known for his role of Taarak Mehta, Shailesh Lodha in conversation with Digital Commentary, mentioned how there is a huge difference between humor and ridicule. Mocking someone can never be a part of humor. Differentiating the terms “satire” and “mockery”, he adds further, “Haasya(Humor) aur uphaas(ridiculing) mei farak hota hai. Sabse aasan kaam agar koi ho sakta hai to wo uphaas karke hasa dena hai. Uske liye apko (so-called) stand up comedians ki zaroorat nahi hai”. He mentions that mockery is always saddistic, and people laugh when they see a third person in trouble.
Was It A Dig At Samay Raina’s New Show ‘India’s Got Latent’?
Meanwhile, standup comedian Samay Raina is broadly gaining limelight amid the current generation with his recently started Youtube show “India’s Got Latent”. Samay is gaining viewership and subscribers to his show in millions, and has received huge praises from the youth generation. Taarak Mehta fame Shailesh Lodha, who is also a writer by profession, did not directly label the comedians, but his actions and words towards the current stand-up comedians raises a big question mark if it was about them or just a passing remark. Shailesh also stated in the conversation, that the intelligence of the current generation is measured on the basis of how accessible they are with social media & technology.
On the other hand, the Sab TV star also said that satire holds a very huge difference from the ongoing mockery. Calling it beautiful, he took names of several famous poets and authors who have written multiple satirical sayings in their career. “All those people who are using slang languages on-stage, are highly promoting it and making abuses an ordinary thing, which is not right”, Shailesh added.
