It was 2019 when Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and renowned filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali were set to reunite for another big film named, ‘Inshallah’. The film was supposed to star Alia Bhatt as the female lead, but ultimately got shelved due to creative differences between them. But, this disruption of the plan was not a usual thing for everyone. Inshallah suspension led to Alia being so disappointed that she went all crying, howling her rants and ending up in locking herself into a room all alone.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bajirao Mastani director Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that the actress who is currently, soaring high in terms of bollywood and international projects once locked her up in a room, and cried out loudly upon the news of shelving their film Inshallah. SLB said, ‘She broke down, she cracked up, she cried, raved, ranted, locked herself in a room. Then, I called her up after one week and said, ‘You’re playing Gangubai’. She said, ‘I was going to play a character in Los Angeles and now I’ve come to Kamathipura, how will I do it? I don’t know this character‘. Later, SLB assured her to have faith in him and made sure that she will be doing great in it. He said upon Alia’s doubt on being able to perform as Gangubai, that he could see the dedication in her eyes and was confirm that she would be coming out the best in this character.
Cut to this day, Bhansali said that Alia Bhatt still sometimes talks like Gangubai hinting towards the captivating charm she held on the character. After Gangubai Kathiawadi, SLB will now be seen working with Alia for film Love and War. Alia, on the other end is busy for her promotional campaign of her upcoming film Jigra, to be releasing on October 11th.
