Actor Arvind Trivedi who played the role of Raavan in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan was captured watching his show on TV at the age of 84. A video is going viral on social media where he can be seen watching the scene where Raavan kidnaps Sita. As he watches the scene, he holds his hands and apologizes to people. Undoubtedly, he got emotional after watching that episode.

Talking about the mythological show Ramayan, it originally telecasted from 25 January 1987 to 31 July 1988. And now it is currently being re-telecasted on DD National to keep people engaged during the lockdown in India. Within a few days of the telecast, the show got the highest ratings for a Hindi GEC since 2015. A few days ago, the Broadcast Audience Research Council(BARC) published few viewership statistics of the show’s first four episodes which will certainly leave you amazed. According to BARC, the first four episodes of Ramayan crossed a total of 93.3 million viewers and received a total of 6.9 billion viewing minutes.

And now, DD National has become the most-watched channel in India. The BARC data suggests DD National’s viewership climbed to 580 million, compared to just one million impressions in the previous week.

Actor Arun Govil, who played Ram in the show expressed his joy over the re-runs. He had said in an interview, “The new generation will get a chance to watch it. They will get to understand the morals, teachings, and values of Ramayan. If they will watch it with the family, they can interact also. If they have queries then their family members of the older generation can explain things. It is a family show. How relationships should be…has been shown in the show. Positivity is there. Right now there is a lockdown, you can’t go anywhere. So watching it will be a good way to use the time.”
