Veteran Actor Jagdeep Passes Away At The Age Of 81

Veteran star Jagdeep who played the infamous character of Soorma Bhopali in Sholay, passes away at the age of 81.

Veteran star Jagdeep who played the iconic character of Soorma Bhopali in Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay, passes away at the age of 81. He was father of Javed Jaffrey and grandfather of Meezaan Jaffrey who made his acting debut in 2019 film Malal. The actor passed away at his Mumbai residence today evening due to age-related issues.

Jagdeep who started his acting career from a very early age went on to appear in more than 400 Bollywood films, including Ramsey brother’s horror film Purana Mandir. He turned director and made a spin-off film on his Sholay’s character Soorma Bhopali in which he also played the titular character, Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha and Dharmendra made a special appearance in Soorma Bhopali.

He was seen in films like Andaz Apna Apna, Brahmachari, Naagin, to name a few. The actor will be forever known for his outstanding acting skills and spot-on comic timing.
