Amid the lockdown imposed because of the coronavirus pandemic, the entertainment industry came to a screeching halt. The filmmaker had to call-off their shooting schedules to abide by the lockdown rules. However, now the unlock process has began, and the production houses and filmmakers have been planning schedules in order to resume the work.
Earlier this year, Yash Raj Films (YRF) had announced that they will mark their 50th anniversary in a special way. YRF may soon announce several projects during to commemorate the 50-year milestone. One of the ventures in YRF 50 includes Tiger 3. The Salman Khan starrer will be the third instalment of the Tiger franchise and it has also been the talk of the town for a while.
Hearsay suggested that Ek Tha Tiger director Kabir Khan may again return to the franchise, but later he refuted the speculations. Current reports state that Maneesh Sharma will be directing the Salman Khan starrer action film.
If Maneesh Sharma gets on-board for Tiger 3, it will be first film in the action genre. The filmmaker has earlier directed films like Band Baaja Baarat, Shuddh Desi Romance, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, and many other noteworthy films.
As per the sources, Aditya Chopra wanted to bring in new director for every movie in the Tiger franchise, in order to bring new flavour to each instalment. Chopra believes that Maneesh Sharma will add a new dimension to the franchise.
Aditya Chopra and Jaideep Sahni worked on the screenplay, and have developed a story for the film. The third installment is expected to be Salman’s biggest scale film. It’ll be shot in various countries.
It is speculated that Tiger 3 will be announced on Yash Chopra’s birth anniversary on September 27.
For the unversed, the 2012 Ek Tha Tiger was directed by Kabir Khan, and the 2017 Tiger Zinda Hai was helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The rumors state that the third installment will bring back the power-packed on-screen couple- Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan.
