‘The Kissing Booth’ Fame Joey King Signed Opposite Brad Pitt For Sony’s ‘Bullet Train’?

Joey King of The Kissing Booth is in talks for a role in the action-thriller Bullet Train for Sony Pictures, opposite Brad Pitt. Read more below to know about Joey's upcoming projects.

Hobbs & Shaw producer David Leitch will direct the script, which Zak Olkewicz will write, as well as handle. After Leitch attached himself last month with Brad Pitt heading in soon after, the film has been moving at a light pace, marking his first film commitment after receiving his first Oscar for acting in Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood. The film looks at the start of a fall in Los Angeles.

The film is based upon the best-selling author Kotaro Isaka ‘s Japanese novel “Maria Beetle.” The project’s executive producers are Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada of CTB Inc., who represent Isaka and the IP.

Separately, Harvill Secker revealed that next year it would publish the novel “Bullet Train” in English. Leitch and Kelly McCormick, along with Antoine Fuqua, will create “Bullet Train” via their company 87North. Kat Samick is an executive producer whereas Brittany Morrissey will executive overseeing the Sony Pictures project.

Sony recently revealed that the studio is producing One Punch Man, which is also based on a successful Japanese manga, which they hope has the potential for franchising.

The details of the story are unclear. Pitt and King play two out of five assassins at the heart of the story according to reports. It will be King’s most action-heavy part to date, offering her a role that could lead to more parts in movies like it in the future like Emily Blunt ‘s Edge of Tomorrow and Scarlett Johansson’s Iron Man 2 did.

After Netflix released the sequel to her smash hit romantic comedy, The Kissing Booth, King has already had a successful summer, as well as announcing a third film which is already shot and King returning to lead.

King is also coming off her Emmy-nominated Gypsy appearance in Hulu’s limited series The Act and will also be producing shows for Hulu after signing a first-look contract with the streaming service. She is the youngest person to sign a streaming network contract.

She ‘s attached to headline and Executive Produce the limited series, A Spark Of Light, by Sony Pictures TV-based on Jodi Piccoult’s bestselling novel. She’ll also produce and star for Paramount Players in The In Between, written by Marc Klein.
