Actor Zayn Ibad Khan believes it is a great opportunity to reach out to younger audiences with his popular show Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 produced by Yash and Mamta Patnaik arriving on OTT platform.
The hit romantic thriller TV series, which was aired on Colors TV has the new season titled Ishq Mein Marjawan 2: Naya Safar streaming exclusively on Voot Select from 15th March. Zayn is excited about the show taking a digital route in terms of its release and on this point he says, “From the beginning the majority of our audience was from digital platforms. It is a great opportunity to make a show like this ‘Ishq Mein Marjawan’ on OTT. It feels glad that we are doing great on OTT also”.
With the boom of the digital platform, the actor believes the competition is getting tougher day-by-day for other mediums of entertainment. However, he personally feels grateful about reaching out to younger audience, courtesy OTT platforms and explaining this he said, “Everyone is working hard because digital is totally connected with the youth. And in this era youngsters don’t even bother to open TV until it is India’s cricket match and they are totally connected with digital platforms. So it is a good opportunity for us to reach youngsters also”.
Zayn plays the role of Angre, who he describes as a loyal, hard-working, focused man who loves his family immensely. The actor says both in reel and real life he likes to stay loyal and real and throwing more light on this, he says, “Angre is focused, genuine, hard-working, concerned about family and so is Zayn who is focused 100 percent to his job and goals and family is everything to Zayn. I’m trying to work hard every day to achieve what I want to. Loyalty for me is to be loyal to yourself first, I have to accept my flaws, if I have done something wrong, I have to accept that and the same goes for my work also”.
The actor says the sophomore season has more twists and turns, thrill, drama, new characters and concluding the interview he signs off by saying, “Vansh (played by Rrahul Sudhir) and Angre are planning something very serious soon. There is a lot to come,” he reveals, without divulging further details. Zayn feels honored to be working with producers Yash and Mamta Patnaik on the successful show. “It has been absolutely fantastic working with such great people. They are very friendly and supportive. For me they are my first producers so they are very special”.
