The team of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is mourning the demise of actor Ghanshyam Nayak, who played the role of Nattu Kaka in the show. The 77-year-old actor passed away on Sunday evening after battling throat cancer for a year.
The news was confirmed by the show’s producer Asit Modi. A tweet was also made from the official handle of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, which reads, “It pains us to inform you all with a heavy heart about the demise of Mr. Ghanshyam Nayak ji who played the role of Nattu Kaka in #TMKOC. Ghanshyam Ji has been an invaluable member of our TMKOC family for all the 13 years of our time.”
The entire cast and crew is mourning the demise of Ghanshyam Nayak. His co-star Tanmay Vekaria, who plays the role of Bagheshwar aka Bagha also expressed his grief.
Sharing a picture of the deceased actor, Tanmay wrote on social media, “A pure soul, pure human being and an epitome of cuteness. shall alwzzzzzzz miss u natukaka, May ur soul rest in peace.”
While talking to a leading daily, he told, “I got the news first as his son called me at 5:45 pm. His condition failed to improve after his hospitalisation a few months back. He passed away today at 5:30 pm. He was a gem and was closest to me. He tried his best to work again with us but his health did not permit. I am very saddened that he is gone.”
Munmun Dutta, who plays the role of Babita Ji in the show has also penned an emotional note on Instagram.
