Conversations about sexual harrasment and physical abuse has gained momentum once again in the industry, after the revelation of Hema Committe Report. After the numerous Malayalam actress’s harrasment made the headlines, now Hindi TV industry’s famous star has also turned up sharing with one such incident. Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai actress Shilpa Shinde in an interaction with News18, recalled of her struggling days when she became a victim of harrasment by a film producer.

Shilpa, who recently made appearance in the reality stunt-show Khatron Ke Khiladi, said while she was auditioning in her intial phase of 1998-99, a producer provided him an outfit, and asked him to act as per the role he gave. The role demanded of the alleged producer being a boss and Shilpa Shinde was supposed to seduce him. Then innocent, Shilpa did not understand the motive behind his demand. She did not wear the clothes he offered but performed the act as a part of her ‘audition’.

As soon as she realised the man is trying to force himself onto her, Shilpa got scared and pushed him away. While the security also understood the wrongdoing, they asked her to immediately leave the spot as everyone thought she would make a scene.
Although, the Bhabhiji actress denied to take the name of the producer but she revealed he was also an actor. As she quotes, “I cannot take names, but they told me, ‘Aap yeh kapde pehno aur yeh scene karo. He was from the Hindi film industry. I agreed to do the scene because he was also an actor,” she said, adding, “I’m not lying, but I cannot take his name. His children are probably a little younger than me, and if I name him, they will suffer too.”
Further, Shilpa Shinde also said that she met the producer after the 1998 incident, however he did not recognise her and must have not remembered his act after so long. He also offered her a project but she denied to the same.
