Saanand Verma Talks About Getting Fame With Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai

Actor Saanand Verma who plays the role of Anokhelal Saxena in the popular sitcom 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai' talks about working in the show and becoming a household name.

Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai is one of the most popular sitcoms currently airing on Indian Television. The show has been able to hold the audience’s attention and love since 2015. Every actor in the show has become a household name now. This includes Saanand Verma who plays the role of Anokhelal Saxena, a genius but crazy man.

In an exclusive interview with us, Saanand opened up about playing Saxena Ji in the show. He said, “The role of Saxena Ji introduced me to the meaning of popularity and fame. People know me because of this character. Although, I have done many other films and web series now and people have started to recognize me for that as well. But the character of Saxena is closest to my heart because it is a very pure and amazing character. I think I am lucky to have got an opportunity to play this role.”

He further opened up and revealed that he was not even the first choice for this role in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. He said, “I was not even the original choice. Someone else was signed for the role of Saxena. But that person had to opt out because of date issues. At the last minute, director Shashank Bali suggested my name. He said that I would be a perfect fit for this crazy character. And this is how I was offered this role. And I immediately said yes because I felt that it was going to revolutionize Indian television.”

Towards the end of the interview, Saanand said that he would never leave Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai and will stay with the show till its last episode.

Meanwhile, Saanand Verma has recently completed shooting for a short film called ‘Swad’ with Ashnoor Kaur. This short film is a part of an anthology that will premiere on a leading OTT platform. He is also looking forward to the release of his film called ‘India Lockdown’ directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
